I’m taking a Me Day, it’s not some passing mood; I’ve just had it, and I don’t mean to come off rude.  I don’t have any answers for your mixed up crazy world, your own fate has to unfurl today…Yeah 

I’m taking a Me Day, no there’s nothing you can do.  Think I’ll stay home ‘cause doing nothing would be new.  I never know what’s coming at me from which way, which side or what, but I know that I’ve had enough today…Yeah.

I could play some guitar or lounge around all day
I could garden out back or rent some pay to play
My time is my own and no, you don’t get a say

I’m taking a Me Day, Sorry that doesn’t include you.  Each time that you’re around, you’re just another shade of blue.  I’ll help you if I can but you’ve gotta me half way; oh but today’s just not your day…yeah.

I’m taking a Me Day and it’s not that I don’t care.  It’s that hearing my own voice is something all too rare.  The world won’t stop of cities fall if I just take some time to maybe, make another rhyme…yeah
