This Girl

There once was a girl who had no fear of the dark or of bent human hearts.  Naïve in the ways of the world.  With no sense of her soul though she knew it was old.
Have you seen this girl?

There once was a girl who spent way too much time defending her crimes to a cynical world.  She couldn’t hear her own voice, never saw she had a choice.
Have you seen this girl? Have you, have you seen this girl?

There once was a girl who made peace with her past and discovered at last her place in the world.  She knew in her soul she’d learned from the old.

Have you seen this girl? Have you, have you been this girl? I am, I am this girl. Aren’t we all this girl?  Can’t we all be this girl?
